Local High School Senior STEM Scholarship


The Local High School Senior STEM Scholarship is designed to support graduating students who plan to pursue a college degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). This scholarship aims to encourage innovation and academic excellence in fields critical to future technological advancements. Eligible applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance, some financial need, a passion for STEM, and a commitment to making an impact in their chosen field. Award recipients are well-rounded students, often exhibiting leadership potential. They should be involved in extracurricular activities and have a plan for their future career in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Applications are available from September 1 through January 15.


GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS

 

Applicant must:

  • Be a woman.
  • Be a senior, graduating from a Santa Rosa high school.
  • Have a minimum cumulative weighted 3.0 Grade Point Average on a 4.0 scale.
  • Demonstrate eligibility for some State and/or Federal Financial Aid.
  • Be active in extracurricular activities (sports, clubs, organizations).
  • Have applied to an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada leading to a baccalaureate degree or a two-year program with a bridge program and/or transfer to an accredited college or university.
  • Have the intention of majoring in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics).
  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
